Dragon Chicken

Dragon Chicken

This is an Indo- Chinese fusion chicken dish with vibrant colour. Here chicken pieces are cut into strips and  fried cashew nuts also added. These are the differences I noticed about this recipe, otherwise it is almost  similar to chilly chicken. It is very delicious and can be served as a side dish with any food items. You can have it as a starter also. In this recipe i have used chilly sauce, instead of that you can grind dry red chilly and make a paste out of it.

Ingredients

  • Chicken  –  1/2 Kg (Boneless,cut into thin strips)
  • Dry red chilly – 3
  • Cashew nuts – 15, broken into small pieces
  • Onion – 1
  • Capsicum – 1
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tablespon
  • Chilly sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato ketchup – 3 tablespoon

To marinate

  • Soy sauce – 2 teaspoon
  • Chilly sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Egg – 1
  • All purpose flour  – 1/2 cup
  • Corn flour – 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste  – 1 tablespoon
  • Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon

Preparation

  1. Marinate chicken pieces with all the ingredients and salt for 30 minutes. Heat oil in a deep pan  and fry the pieces till golden. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a  pan. Add in dry red chilly ,cashews and fry till the cashew turn golden brown.
  3. Add thinly sliced onion and capsicum and toss well. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
  4. Add chilly sauce, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, salt and mix well. Cook this for few minutes till the water evaporates and sauce thickens.
  5. Add the fried chicken and toss well in the sauce. Turn it off and garnish with spring onions.
