I have passion fruit plant at home, when it is ripe and falling on the ground what we used to do is, just make a hole on top of the fruit and add sugar directly into this then will scoop out with a spoon. It was the yellow fruit but here in UAE I have seen only the purple fruits. Here it won’t be available all the time. Actually the seeds are edible, but here I have taken only the juice. You can also combine this with orange to make juice.
- Passion Fruit – 3
- Sugar – 1/4 cup
- Water – 1 cup
- Cut the fruit into half and scoop out the pulp using a spoon.
- Add water(few mint leaves, a small green chilly)and blend it, don’t over blend to avoid the grit of seeds.
- Sieve this into a jug and add enough sugar and water to balance the tart flavour. Mix it well.
- Serve with ice cubes.
