Drumstick / Muringakka Thoran

An easy dry side dish with drumstick you can have with rice. It contains high level of vitamin C which boosts immunity. This is highly beneficial for curing many ailments. Overall drumstick has lot of excellent health benefits.

Ingredients

  • Drumstick  – 5
  • Chili powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
  • Grated Coconut – ½ cup
  • Cumin Seed – ¼ teaspoon
  • Garlic – 3
  • Red Chilly – 
  • Curry Leaves – 1 stem

Preparation

  1. Crush coconut, cumin seed, garlic and chilly powder.
  2. Cook drumstick pieces along with turmeric powder, salt in little water. Cover the pan with a lid and cook well.
  3. Once the Drumstick cooked well and water dries up, add crushed coconut mix. Cover and cook for some time and turn off.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, dried red chilly and let it splutter.
  5. Add curry leaves and pour this over the thoran. Mix well and serve.
